Healthy Workplace Month 2018
October is Healthy Workplace Month!
Healthy Workplace Month is a nation-wide initiative that aims to highlight the importance of a comprehensive and holistic approach to workplace health in Canada.
From October 1 – 31, 2018, the Healthy Workplace Initiative (Saskatoon) recognizes Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month® and the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s ongoing commitment to creating healthier workplaces and a healthy organization. To help celebrate, the following ideas, resources and activities/events are offered for all staff.
- Take one of these challenges or set up a team challenge with your coworkers:
This virtual wellness program includes videos to support stress reduction and deep relaxation. Led by Michael Apollo, these videos can even be viewed with a headset while sitting at a desk. Permission to link to these free video resources has been generously provided by the University Health Network (UHN).
Visit our virtual health fair which offers a variety of screenings, tools and resources to help you assess your current status and make improvements towards a healthier self. New additions for Healthy Workplace Month include:
Saying When – mobile app to help quit drinking or cut down.
Stand Up! – simple app reminds you to stand up and take a break.
Well-Being Checklist – Questions to help you get a clearer picture of your situation.
Stress Responder Scale – Get insight right now into your stress response and how that predicts your happiness and success-and most importantly a customized action plan to help move you from stressed to successful.
